Please join us for our fourth annual Small Steps in Speech golf outing on Saturday, April 27, 2024 (see additional golf outing details below). Small Steps in Speech is a nonprofit organization created in memory of Staff Sgt. Marc J. Small. Marc was a Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha team medical sergeant assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in January 2009 as a member of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force – Afghanistan. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terror. On February 12, 2009, at 29 years old, Marc died of wounds sustained from enemy fire during a combat reconnaissance patrol. 

Small Steps in Speech provides grants on behalf of children with speech and language disorders for therapies, treatments, communicative devices, and other services aimed at improving their communication skills.
